Hi there, and welcome to The School of Satchel.
We’re an independent leather goods brand based in Manila, and we’ve been quietly doing what we love since 2019: crafting purposeful, well-made bags that are built to last and made to carry meaning.
Our bags are made with real, full-grain cowhide leather, sourced with care and handled with skill. Each one is handcrafted by our partner local Filipino leather craftsmen, from pattern-making to cutting, all the way to the finishing details. We use vegetable-tanned leather not just for how strong and durable it is, but for the way it ages beautifully, picking up character as you carry it through life.
We stand for local craftsmanship, fair trade, classic design, and everyday versatility.
But beyond the materials and the process, we’re a small team of young, urban creatives who simply believe that local can be world-class. Filipino-made goods deserve a spot on your shoulders, in your work bag rotation, and in your daily routines.
When we started The School of Satchel, our goal was clear: to create pieces that empower everyday milestones, from your first job interview to your day-one flight or just your regular Monday morning. We want our bags to be with you through all of it. And we want more Filipinos to feel proud of choosing local. In a world filled with fast fashion and big global labels, we hope to be a more conscious choice. One that supports Filipino talent, values quality over quantity, and holds itself to the same standards as any luxury brand out there.
We believe in fair trade, too. That means making sure everyone involved, from our craftspeople to our customers, is treated with honesty and respect. We’re not here to follow trends. We’re here to make bags that matter. That last. That gets better with time.
